Yes, you can purchase a music license for a video you've already uploaded to YouTube, as long as the video is still 'Unlisted'.
If your video has already been uploaded as 'Private' or 'Public' then you cannot purchase a license retrospectively.
Please Note : purchasing a license for an 'unlisted' won't stop you from initially receiving a YouTube copyright claim. This is because our VOUCH software cannot automatically release claims on a video ID retroactively.
To get the claim removed, please follow these steps:
- Visit your My Account > Videos section by clicking here.
- Find the affected video and submit a request to clear the claim.
- We'll begin work in the background to clear the claim, and notify you once it's complete.
- Turn around time is up to 4 hours on a weekday, and 48 hours at the weekend.
- Your claim in YouTube Studio will update once this has been resolved, and you'll also receive an email notification from us.
Once we've cleared your license you can make your video 'Public'.
